Protective linings
Chemical-resistant lining systems for bund floors and walls, selected to suit the stored liquid and site conditions.
A protective lining gives a bund a continuous, chemical-resistant surface that is easier to inspect and clean than bare concrete. It also protects the concrete underneath from the liquids it is built to contain.
Choosing the right system
No single coating suits every bund. We select a system based on what is stored, how often the bund is exposed to it, the temperature range, foot traffic and the condition of the substrate. Typical systems include:
- Epoxy linings for general chemical and hydrocarbon resistance.
- Novolac epoxy linings where higher chemical resistance is needed.
- Polyurethane cement for floors that see heavy wear, thermal cycling or washdown.
Epoxy and novolac systems are not UV stable and can chalk or discolour in direct sun. Where a bund is exposed, we will discuss the options with you.
[TBC: confirm product systems and manufacturers to name, if any]
Getting the detail right
Linings usually fail at the edges: wall-to-floor junctions, plinths, drains, grates and pipe penetrations. We give these areas the same attention as the open floor, so the finished lining is continuous.
