Bund repairs & remediation
Decontamination, concrete repair and crack and joint sealing to return damaged or oil-contaminated bunds to service.
A bund only works if it holds liquid. Over time, concrete cracks, joints open up, and years of drips and spills soak into the surface. Rainwater collects, mixes with oil, and the bund slowly stops doing its job.
Remediation returns the bund to a sound, clean and sealable condition. It is usually the first stage before a new protective lining goes down.
How we approach it
We start by removing liquids, sludge and debris, then decontaminate the floors, walls and plinths. Oil-contaminated concrete is a poor base for any coating, so we remove the contaminated surface layer by grinding or abrasive blasting. This also creates the surface profile a lining needs to bond.
With a clean substrate exposed, we repair cracks, spalls and damaged concrete, and seal joints, penetrations and wall-to-floor junctions. These are the places bunds most often leak.
Working on live sites
Many bunds sit around equipment that cannot be switched off. We plan the work around your site’s access, permit and isolation requirements, and agree the sequence with your team before we start.

After decontamination.
Surface preparation removes the contaminated surface layer and creates a profile for the lining.
